Speech Pathology Team

At Kids Focus we employ highly capable therapists who care deeply about their work and strive to go above and beyond for their clients. Each member of our team is highly skilled, and are chosen not only for their qualifications but for their passionate commitment to improving the quality of life for our clients and their families.

Our therapists are fully qualified professionals who have completed their training at Universities in Australia. Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists must complete intensive university degrees, and all of our team members are registered members of their respective national bodies (Speech Pathology Association of Australia and Occupational Therapy Australia). All of our team members regularly undertake specialised training and professional development to ensure we are up to date with the most current therapy techniques and practices.


Jacqueline Boyd
B.App.Sc (Speech Pathology) MSPAA, CPSP Hanen Certified Speech Pathologist Cogmed Practitioner

Jacqui is one of the directors of Kids Focus Paediatric Services and principal Speech Pathologist. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology). She has worked in a variety of environments including Community Health, NGOs and her own Private Practice over many years.

Jacqui has presented at various workshops and is trained in a range of techniques including PROMPT, PECS, MULTILIT, Sounds Write, SOS Approach to Feeding. She is a Hanen Certified Clinician who is able to teach parents individually and in groups in "It Takes Two to Talk" (for parents of children with Language Delays), "More Than Words" (for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder) and "Talkability" (people skills for verbal children on the Autism Spectrum) and is also a Cogmed practitioner.


Andrew Pople B.App.Sc (Speech Pathology), Hons, MSPAA, CPSP  Hanen Certified Speech Pathologist

Andrew graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) with Honours; writing his thesis on communication impacts in Multiple Sclerosis. Andrew has worked for many years in private practices; delivering both clinic and school-based therapy and assessment. Andrew has worked closely with other allied health professionals, particularly occupational therapists.
Andrew is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for his clients; achieving this through structured therapy that develops children’s skills through fun, play-based therapy, whilst developing parent’s skills for continuing therapy at home. He has completed a variety of workshops, conferences and training programs, including in the areas of play therapy, writing and vocational training. Andrew is committed to developing his clinical knowledge and skills and staying informed about current evidence-based practices.
Andrew is a Hanen Certified Clinician who is able to teach parents individually and in groups in "More Than Words" - for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Andrew has a strong interest in the area of literacy. In addition to his degree in Applied Science Andrew has a Bachelor of Arts; Majoring in Literature. He also works as a producer and presenter on Final Draft the literature program for Public Radio 2SER 107.3


Anja Kalbus Bach Health.Sci (Speech Pathology)  MSPAA, CPSP   ABA Therapist

Anja graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Health Science (Speech Pathology). She has gained experience working with children with a range of speech and communication disorders and has worked closely with other allied health professionals when providing services. Anja has a strong passion for working with children on the Autism Spectrum and their families and has many years of experience. She is trained in many techniques including Sounds Write, PECS and Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). 


Desiree Bent B.App.Sc (Speech Pathology) MSPAA, CPSP  ABA Therapist

Desiree graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology). Desiree is a passionate therapist who has gained experience working with children and adolescents living with a range of disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome and developmental delay. She works closely with families and other allied health professionals to provide a holistic approach to therapy. Desiree has training in Key Word Sign, Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and attended workshops in the areas of literacy and sensory processing. Desiree has a strong interest working with children to help build their communication and language skills. She enjoys implementing therapy that is evidence-based, effective and functional for her clients to support them in their daily lives.


Caitlin Hill Bach Speech Pathology MSPAA, CPSP Hanen Certified Speech Pathologist

Caitlin graduated from the Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. She has gained experience working with children with a range of disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delay and speech and language disorders. Caitlin has an interest in early intervention and supporting families with a holistic approach to achieve their goals. Caitlin has training in Key Word Sign, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Social Thinking. Caitlin is a Hanen Certified Clinician who is able to teach parents individually and in groups in “It Takes Two to Talk”, for parents of children with Language Delays.
