Kids Focus is a registered provider with all the following funding schemes:
Medicare Plans
Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan (Enhanced Primary Care Plan)
Completed by a GP and for clients who have a chronic medical condition and complex care needs. Clients are eligible for up to 5 sessions per calendar year for allied health services including Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy.
Mental Health Plan
Completed by a GP, this is a Medicare Initiative aimed at providing funding to patients with a mental health disorder to allow them better access to services. This includes children diagnosed with deficits in social functioning, behavioural problems, anxiety, ASD and sensory processing disorder.
Autism Funding through Medicare
For clients with Autism or any other pervasive developmental disorder aged under 13 for diagnosis and aged under 15 for treatment (must have been diagnosed before age 13). A referral letter from a Consultant Psychologist or a referral letter from a Paediatrician to an eligible allied health professional is required. Clients are then eligible for up to 4 allied health assessment sessions in total per child and up to 20 allied health treatment services in total per child including Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy.
Better Start Funding through Medicare
For clients diagnosed with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X syndrome or a moderate or greater vision or hearing impairment including deafness/blindness aged under 13 for diagnosis and aged under 15 for treatment (must have been diagnosed before age 13). A referral letter from a specialist, consultant physician or GP to an eligible allied health professional is required. Clients are then eligible for up to 4 allied health assessment sessions in total per child and up to 20 allied health treatment services in total per child including Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy.

Helping Children with Autism Program
For children aged 0 – 7 years of age diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Children must have been seen by an Autism Advisor and deemed eligible to access the program before their seventh birthday. Children are entitled to $12,000 in funding ($6,000 per financial year) which can be used for early intervention up until their seventh birthday. Up to 35% of the child’s funding can be used to purchase resources to a maximum of $2,100 per financial year or $4,200 in total.
Better Start for Children with Disability Initiative
For children aged 0 – 7 years of age diagnosed with a hearing impairment, sight impairment, Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy. Children must have been seen by an Advisor and deemed eligible to access the program before their seventh birthday. Children are entitled to $12,000 in funding ($6,000 per financial year) which can be used for early intervention up until their seventh birthday.
